Pipes, Plaid and Pageantry Parade

A tartaned clad bagpipe band marches along a road. The image doesn't show the heads of the all-male participants. It shows the bagpipers from the shoulders down, wearing black vests with silver square buttons. The tartan plan kilts are dark blue with green, purple and white patterns. Each piper wears a silver and black leather sporan, white knit socks up to the knee with red sashes and black leather lace-up kilt shoes. This photo is of members of the Fergus Pipe Band.

Everyone loves a parade! The Pipes, Plaid and Pageantry Parade is the official kick off to the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games weekend each August.  A community parade winds through downtown Fergus, featuring live music from pipe and marching bands, colour parties, dancers and more.
