    Need a night out on the town? The team behind Sensational Elora have created a Fabulous Fergus Pub Night event to bring people together to enjoy pub a proper pub experience. With great food and the beverages we enjoy, in an atmosphere that feels like home, await you on Sensational Elora’s tour of Fergus Pubs. You’re not going to want to miss it.

    Special three-course menus will be offered at each of the following fabulous Fergus pubs: the Breadalbane’s Fergusson Room, The Brew House On The Grand, and The Goofie Newfie.  Participants register and will be contacted with an assigned a pub to start the evening’s fun, and then lead to their next pub and next course of deliciousness with a group of travelling musicians leading the way.

    Stir it up! It’s time for the annual Sensational Elora Soup-Off!

    Now celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the competition is boiling over with delicious flavours, creative recipes and an aroma of fun.

    The Sensational Soup-Off, a signature event of Sensational Elora’s calendar, part of their Empty Bows/Empty Glasses Project. It’s an important fundraiser to combat hunger and poverty in our community.

    Watch as chefs, home-cooks and time-tested traditional recipes are put to the taste test – and the judge is YOU! Using local ingredients and a whole lot of creativity, this is truly a feast for the senses.

    But there’s more to it!

    •  Sample soups from the competitors
    • Enjoy entertainment from the Elora Acoustic Cafe
    • Purchase a one-of-a-kind bowl or glass hand-designed by local artisans
    • Vote for the best soup!

    Entry to the Sensational Soup-Off is:

    • $15 for adults
    • $5 for children under 12
    • and $35 maximum for a family of two adults plus children.
    • Purchase one-of-a-kind bowls and glasses, donated by local artists for only $25.00.

    Voting will take place during the event and prizes will be awarded.

    The best weekend of the fall season is here and the best place to be? Also here. Right here, in Elora. Why? Because it’s sensational!

    This long weekend boasts many fine traditions for friends and family to gather and celebrate the harvest.  In our community’s social calendar, it brings two of our favourite fall events – and we’d love for you to join us!

     

    WHO DOESN’T LOVE PUMPKINS?

     

    Sensational Pumpkin Day is a FREE family event held in Elora’s Bissell Park, at the Elora Farmers’ Market. The event is all about celebrating the end of the harvest season with all kinds of fun, interactive activities for all ages.  Bring the family and get ready for some fun!

    • Prizes for best carved/decorated pumpkins (lots of pumpkins on site!)
    • Giant pumpkin carving demonstrations – to be raffled
    • Mapleton’s Organic Dairy pumpkin ice cream
    • Face painting, Highland dance demonstrations, Zumba
    • A bouncy castle
    • Music with Juneyt

    PLEASE bring a donation of a non-perishable food donation for the Centre Wellington Food Bank too!

     

     

    SENSATIONAL SOUP-OFF

     

    Soup’s on!  Get ready to slurp up some hot, delicious and creative soups for the annual Sensational Soup-off and Empty Bowls event, a yummy Thanksgiving weekend tradition.

    Held at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, in the Aboyne Hall, the event invites local soup-makers to stir it up for a good cause. From professional Chefs with delectable skills to amateur foodie enthusiasts, including some award-winning youth entries, with homemade recipes that are tried and true, they’ll face off in a bowl-to-bowl competition – and best of all, you get to be the judge!

    Your ticket allows you to sample from this amazing buffet of soups made with local and sustainable food.  Your vote dictates the winner!

    $5  Children
    $35 Family
    $25 Bowl

    All proceeds from this event go to support the Centre Wellington Food Bank and Centre Wellington District High School‘s Breakfast Program.
